Overview
Our high street law firm seeks a Legal Bookkeeper/Legal Cashier to join a busy, client-focused practice. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Key Responsibilities
- Legal cashiering
- Posting to client and office ledgers in Xero
- Daily banking and bank reconciliations
- Electronic payments and money transfers in line with internal controls
- Conveyancing completions and associated financial processes
- Assisting with month-end and year-end routines and reports
- Supporting payroll processing
- Compliance and controls
- Assisting with compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules (training provided)
- Maintaining accurate records, audit trails and file notes
- Monitoring and assisting with resolution of ledger queries and residual balances
- Case and office administration
- Using the LEAP case management system to maintain and close files, manage workflows, produce documents, and ensure accurate time recording and billing data
- Managing stationery and office supplies
- General administrative support, including scanning, filing and post
- Liaising with fee earners, clients, banks and suppliers
- Reception cover and other ad hoc office duties as required

Skills and Experience

- Experience in a busy office environment with strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Good IT proficiency, including Xero or similar accounting software, LEAP (or another legal case management system), Microsoft 365 and online banking
- Clear, professional communication and strong organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise competing deadlines and work with minimal supervision
- Experience in a solicitor’s firm and/or Xero and LEAP is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
