Established, 6-bedded children’s home in Walsall, providing exceptional residential care for children and young people with learning and/or physical disabilities.
Our purpose-built home features a range of breakout spaces, including two activity rooms, a sensory room, and two lounges creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive. Each bedroom is en-suite and fully personalised, ensuring that every child’s voice and preferences are central to how their space is designed.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Children’s Home Registered Manager to lead Bluebell House for a 12-month maternity cover period, supported by the managing director/RI to take over the registration even if never held registration before.
You will be responsible for the home’s day-to-day operations, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of exceptional care and support to children and young people. Working closely with a dedicated team, you’ll ensure that the home remains a safe, positive, and enriching environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and support a multi-disciplinary team to deliver outstanding care.
Maintain full compliance with Ofsted and all statutory frameworks.
Safeguard and promote the welfare and wellbeing of children in accordance with their care plans.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and improvement plans.
Oversee staff recruitment, induction, supervision, and appraisals.
Build and sustain effective relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies.
Manage budgets and resources efficiently.
Prepare reports and documentation for inspections and internal review.
Person Specification
Essential:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Health and Social Care or equivalent).
Proven experience managing a children’s residential home/ or similar setting
Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding legislation.
Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Resilient, organised, and child-focused approach.
Desirable:
Experience supporting children with learning and/or physical disabilities is preferred
Knowledge of local authority commissioning processes and care standards.
