Neway International has a job vacancy for a Registration Officer to join our client based with Haringey Council.

Starting at the beginning of December, working 36 hours a week in an ongoing contract.

Role Purpose
We are seeking a Registration Officer (SO1) to join the Adults, Housing & Health Directorate at the London Borough of Haringey. This is a project-based role focused on maintaining and updating the housing register, with particular emphasis on Older Persons’ Housing applications. The successful candidate will provide an efficient, transparent, and customer-focused assessment service, ensuring compliance with housing legislation and council policies.

Key Responsibilities
Review and update household information on the Older Persons’ Housing Register.

Undertake detailed assessments of individuals applying for older persons’ housing, including medical assessments.

Provide accurate advice and guidance to applicants, managing expectations around housing availability and waiting times.

Collate and verify information, liaising with medical professionals and other agencies where required.

Ensure all data is accurately recorded on housing management IT systems.

Deliver a responsive housing registration service tailored to the diverse needs of customers.

Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to safeguard vulnerable individuals and ensure fair, transparent outcomes.

Skills & Experience Required
✅ Experience of using housing management IT systems (Essential).

✅ Relevant experience in housing or homelessness services, particularly supporting vulnerable people and minority groups (Essential).

✅ Strong communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of people.

✅ Ability to organise workload, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.

✅ Team player with the ability to work independently and use initiative.

✅ Flexible, improvement-focused attitude with strong customer service skills.
