Summary

Salary: £21,423 per annum, (£18.31 per hour), plus travel expenses.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (working pattern to be agreed)

We are excited to be recruiting for 2 Intensive Housing Officers. The purpose of the role is to deliver an excellent Intensive Housing Management service to our customers in our Southern areas, either Welwyn Hatfield or Enfield.

You need to be driven to help vulnerable customers, and display our values of compassion, respect and hospitality. Experience of being a Housing Officer or equivalent will be an advantage.

Please note that we are currently unable to sponsor overseas applicants and eligibility to work in the UK is required.

Skills and Responsibilities – what will you do?

Complete housing assessments and sign up new tenancy agreements
Assist Tenants to understand their tenancy and housing management policies
Support people using the service in the day-to-day domestic maintenance and safety of their home
Assist with breaches of occupancy agreements in consultation with support service teams and relevant agencies. Including preparation of notices.
Use IT systems to log daily notes and all contact with tenants and agencies or services relating to a tenant.
To instigate and implement Arrears Procedures to ensure the payment of arrears and prepare & monitor payment plans where necessary.
Promote and sustain a culture within the service that integrates the core values of the charity, i.e. respect, compassion, hospitality, into the day to day life of the services
Respect people’s right to privacy and maintain confidentiality at all time

Essential Criteria:

GCSE standard qualifications.
An ability to demonstrate the core values of the charity
Ability to work within a service for people with support/care needs.
Ability to prioritise and manage own workload, time and travel
Good IT skills and working Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and Excel.
Ability to work in a team environment and share knowledge and experience
Ability to take responsibility and deliver results.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Good problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills:

Chartered Institute of Housing National Practitioner to level 3 or willingness to attain.
Experience of the Social Housing Sector and delivery of core housing services and support
Knowledge of housing benefits and welfare reform in a supported housing environment
An understanding of housing law and its application within social housing
An understanding of repairs management including an understanding of health and safety, fire safety and other property standard legislation
