SEN Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full time, long term
A supportive and welcoming primary school in the Urmston area is looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with pupils who require additional support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers and thrive in their learning.
The role
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of additional needs
• Assisting with communication, emotional regulation and daily routines
• Supporting the class teacher with targeted interventions and adapted learning activities
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence
• Working collaboratively with the SENCO and teaching staff to deliver personalised support plans
What the school is looking for
• Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary setting
• Strong understanding of behaviour strategies and inclusive learning practices
• A calm, nurturing and patient approach
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
• Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification is desirable, though strong experience is equally valued
