HALLS SERVICE SUPERVISOR – GRADE 4

£25,804 - £28,778 pa

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Halls Service Supervisor to join our team, leading the domestic operations across our student accommodation sites. In this vital role, you’ll oversee the Domestic Assistants and Hall Assistants, ensuring our residences are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and service. You will be experienced in supervising a housekeeping, domestic services, or facilities team and possess strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

You must display a proactive and hands-on approach with excellent communication and problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.

Key Responsibilities include Team Leadership Providing first-line management and day-to-day supervision of domestic staff, ensuring all cleaning and housekeeping tasks are completed in kitchens, bedrooms, and communal areas, identify training needs, support team development, monitor performance, and manage absence, annual leave, and lieu time.

Organising staff schedules, oversee work patterns, and ensure tasks are completed to the expected standards. Provide hands-on support when needed.

Other duties include but are not limited to ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations, risk assessments, safe systems of work, and manual handling requirements, oversee accurate stock control and ordering, maintain up-to-date staff and operational records, and ensure documentation and reporting processes are followed. Monitor and report maintenance requirements, liaising with colleagues to resolve issues promptly.

Take ownership of complaints and queries, ensuring they are handled efficiently and resolved satisfactorily.

Hours & Additional Information

Hours: 35 per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Flexibility is required to support key events such as student arrivals and end-of-term clearances, which may include occasional weekend work.
