Description
As a Streetworks Compliance Inspector (Grade H - I), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and safety of public roadworks within our jurisdiction. This position is crucial for maintaining compliance with legal standards and regulations, overseeing streetworks carried out by various utility companies and contractors. You will be responsible for monitoring work sites, assessing the quality of completed projects, and ensuring that all works adhere to the required specifications and safety standards. Your keen eye for detail and ability to communicate effectively will be essential as you liaise with contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders. In addition, you will provide guidance and support to ensure that all activities are compliant with local regulations and best practices. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of streetworks to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Monitor the activities of contractors and utility companies on-site to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
Review and approve traffic management plans and permit applications for streetworks before work commences.
Investigate complaints and issues raised by the public related to streetworks and take appropriate action to resolve them.
Provide guidance to contractors and utility companies on compliance requirements and best practices for streetworks.
Prepare detailed reports of inspections, including any non-compliance issues and recommendations for improvement.
Coordinate with local authorities, police, and other agencies to ensure effective communication during streetworks operations.
Requirements
Proven experience in streetworks inspection or a related field, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation.
Excellent observational skills and attention to detail to identify compliance issues effectively.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with contractors and stakeholders.
Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and documentation related to inspections and findings.
Problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues that arise during site inspections.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to streetworks and public infrastructure.
A valid driving license and ability to travel to various sites across the area as required.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £23.49
