Use your door-to-door skills for something that matters

If you’ve done door-to-door sales, you’ve already got what we need: confidence, great chat, and the ability to turn a quick conversation into action.
The difference? You’re asking people to do something that will make a positive difference to their city and local community. It’s no hard sell!

Your job is simple and focused: knock on doors, talk to residents, and recruit volunteers who’ll help our councillors and candidates win here in Hull. Every “yes” you get grows our local team and moves us closer to victory in May 2026.

What you’ll do
Recruit volunteers on the doorstep (your main focus), and by phone

Turn interest into action: sign people up as leaflet deliverers, admin helpers and members.

Onboard and support new volunteers with clear next steps, training and resources.

Keep accurate records using our online database so we stay in touch and keep people active.

Be a positive, reliable part of a close, hard-working campaign team.

You’ll be great at this if you:
Are a motivated self-starter who enjoys working independently and hitting clear targets.

Have excellent face-to-face communication skills and enjoy meeting people.

Are comfortable with doorstep conversations and public engagement.

Are organised, with good attention to detail.

Can use everyday IT tools (email, spreadsheets, databases).

Are supportive of Liberal Democrat values and want to make a difference locally.

Driving licence and access to a car would be beneficial.

The offer
£25,500 salary (pro rata if part-time)

Full training and ongoing support

Travel expenses reimbursed (per policy) within Hull

Evening and weekend work will be required, but this job can be flexible to help fit around your life.

How to apply

Please send your CV and a short cover letter explaining why you’re right for this role to Rob Jacques – rob.jacques@libdems.org.uk.

Applications are considered on a rolling basis – early applications encouraged.

Bring your doorstep skills to a role with real purpose. Help us grow the team that wins for Hull.
