Contract: 13 October 2025 – 31 March 2026
Hours: 37 per week (Mon–Fri, 09:00–16:30)
Pay Rate: £15.08 PAYE / £18.34 Umbrella

About the Role
Plymouth City Council is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Natural Infrastructure Officer to join the Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest (PSDCF) team. This Grade E role also supports the wider Green Estates programme, contributing to the city’s ambitious environmental and biodiversity goals.

️ Key Responsibilities
Community Forest Team:

Support tree planting and woodland creation applications, including data management and GIS mapping (QGIS/ArcGIS)

Coordinate materials and designs for partners and applicants

Monitor and report on progress against PSDCF’s 25-year plan using environmental data (e.g. canopy cover, flood mitigation, greenspace access)

Facilitate community tree planting days in collaboration with PCC’s Green Communities team

Submit photographic evidence and scheme reports to Defra on time

Green Estates Team:

Map and monitor Green Estates assets across internal teams

Assist with Biodiversity Net Gain and Nature Recovery projects, including mapping and management plan collation

Contribute to strategic planning and documentation for local plan evidence base and public consultation

What We’re Looking For
Experience in environmental services, green infrastructure, or natural capital projects

Proficiency in GIS software (QGIS and/or ArcGIS)

Strong data management and reporting skills

Ability to collaborate across teams and with community stakeholders

Excellent organisational and communication skills
