Your new role
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in St Helens is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their Year 5 team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across the curriculum, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. You will assist with lesson delivery, provide one-to-one and small group support, and help pupils build confidence in their learning. While experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable, it is not essential.
To be considered for this role, you should hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) and have experience working with children, ideally within a school setting. You'll need to be patient, proactive, and committed to helping pupils reach their full potential. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach are essential, as you'll be working closely with both staff and pupils.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Level 2 or above qualification
  • Experience working with children
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • An up to date Overseas Police Check if you have been living outside the UK

What you'll get in return

  • A fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension or permanent employment
  • A rewarding and flexible role
  • A dedicated consultant from Hays Education who will provide you with advice, guidance, and support throughout your placement
  • A competitive salary depending on your qualifications and experience
  • Access to free online training courses
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Work with a globally established company with a wide client network
  • Access to exclusive vacancies
