Your new role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive Year 5 classroom in a vibrant primary school in St Helens.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Provide targeted support to pupils, including those with SEN, to help them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
- Assist with classroom management and preparation of learning materials.
- Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Foster a positive, nurturing environment that promotes confidence and independence.
- Support the Year 5 children in preparing to transition into year 6 and complete their SATS
- Support the children in their emotional development
What you'll need to succeed
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (Desirable but not essential).
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive, with a genuine interest in supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
- Full right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one
- Knowledge of Safeguarding
- Experience working with children
