Summary
Your new role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive primary school in St Helens on a full time temporary contract (with the opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate), working within a Year 5 classroom. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in children's lives. The school offers a warm and welcoming environment, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, professional development and pupil wellbeing.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure that all children are able to access the curriculum and thrive both academically and socially.
As part of your daily responsibilities, you will assist with classroom activities, provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups and help manage behaviour in a calm and consistent manner. You will be expected to adapt learning materials to suit the needs of children with SEN, contribute to their progress through observations and feedback, and foster a nurturing atmosphere that promotes confidence and independence. Your role will also involve liaising with staff and parents to support the development of personalised learning strategies and ensure that each child receives the care and attention they need.
