Facilities Controller
Rate: £12.21 per hour (rising to £12.71 per hour after successful completion of probationary period)
Hours: 47 hours per week (permanent)
Life Property manages and maintains the buildings and physical environment within which Life and its tenants operate. The site is in a central part of the city, close to Central Station and requires facilities cover 24/7.
We are looking for a Facilities Controller to assist in the Control Room, a central hub for the day-to-day facilities management of the Centre. Key duties include being responsible for monitoring security systems, CCTV, access control, the building management system, and providing remote assistance for Times Square multi-storey car park.
You will have good customer service skills, knowledge of basic building services systems (e.g. fire alarms, heating, ventilation, and security systems), an awareness of security procedures and be capable of being the first line response to any unexpected incidents and emergency situations. Experience as a control room/security person in a multi-functional building would be an advantage. A friendly manner and a flexible, positive attitude are essential, together with a keenness to get involved in any other facilities and property tasks as needed.
The role will involve working day, night or weekend shifts as required. Flexibility is therefore essential.
Life is a welcoming and friendly place to work. We offer a range of benefits to support your wellbeing, including access to wellbeing initiatives, an Employee Assistance Programme, a health cash plan with a 24/7 GP service line, and discounted car parking in the centre of Newcastle.
The successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check. Details of our DBS policy are available on request. For further information regarding this post, please refer to the job description and person specification on our website.
