Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Food Safety Officer for an exciting project focused on ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality across various stages of food handling and production. This role is crucial in safeguarding public health by implementing systematic procedures and regulatory compliance in food processing facilities. The Food Safety Officer will work closely with food industry stakeholders to evaluate and improve food safety protocols, conduct inspections, and provide training on best practices in food safety management. This position requires an in-depth understanding of food safety regulations and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting risk assessments, preparing reports, and developing comprehensive food safety plans that align with local, state, and federal guidelines. The ideal candidate will also monitor compliance with standards, manage documentation, and collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of food safety. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of food processing facilities to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
Develop and implement food safety training programs for staff and stakeholders.
Monitor food safety practices during the production and storage phases of food handling.
Assess risks and recommend corrective actions to address any food safety issues identified during inspections.
Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings and compliance status.
Collaborate with regulatory agencies and industry partners to stay updated on food safety standards.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of food safety procedures and compliance records.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Public Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in food safety or quality assurance roles, preferably within the food industry.
Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal food safety regulations and standards.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for assessing compliance and risks.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in using computer software for record keeping and report generation.
Certification in food safety management or related credentials is highly desirable.
