Summary

Are you a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting upper Key Stage 2 pupils?


Hays Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Islington to recruit a Year 6 SEN TA. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs in their final year of primary school, helping them prepare for a confident transition to secondary education.

Your RoleAs the Year 6 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with EHCPs or additional learning needs.
  • Assist with literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support plans.
  • Help pupils build confidence and independence ahead of secondary transition.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in KS2.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential).
