We are currently looking for a Transport Manager for a busy transport / logistics department in Grantham. This role will be managing a small team in a busy transport hub.
Your duties as a Transport Manager will include:
• Responsible for the team in planning, routing and day to day running of the of vehicles.
• Breakdown, repair and MOT organising, dealing with issues about the vehicles and documenting these.
• Managing direct reports along with holiday management, rotas, timesheet analysis, hours, and driver records
• Optimising the utilisation of vehicles, updating delivery times to clients
• Make sure all vehicles are loaded / unloaded in a timely manner and vehicles are off site on time.
The ideal Transport Manager candidate will have:
• Previous Transport/Logistics planning experience.
• licence and CPC
• Excellent telephone manner
• Organisational and prioritisation skills
• Experience of managing people
• Competent in working with Microsoft Word/Excel.
