Job Advert: Part-Time Design & Technology (DT) Technician – Immediate Start
Location: Sheffield
Contract Type: Part-Time (Term Time Only)
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: £110 - £130 per day, depending on experience

A leading secondary school in Sheffield is seeking to appoint a Design & Technology (DT) Technician to join our dynamic and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and practical individual who is passionate about supporting student learning in a creative and hands-on environment.

About the Role:

As our Design & Technology (DT) Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the department by:

  • Preparing and maintaining materials, tools, and equipment for lessons


  • Assisting teaching staff with classroom demonstrations and practical tasks


  • Ensuring health and safety standards are met and maintained


  • Managing stock levels and ordering supplies


  • Supporting students during practical sessions as needed


    What We’re Looking For:

    We are looking for a Design & Technology (DT) Technician who:

    • Has experience in a workshop or educational setting (preferred, but not essential)


    • Possesses strong practical skills and confidence in using tools and machinery


    • Has a good understanding of health and safety procedures (training provided if needed)


    • Is organised, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
