Are you a dynamic and visionary advanced clinical practitioner looking for a unique leadership opportunity to shape the future of advanced practice across a major NHS Group?

We are excited to invite applications for aGroup Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) Leadto join our senior team on a fixed-term basis. This role will provide strategic and operational leadership for the development, implementation, and sustainability of a high-quality multi-professional advanced clinical practice workforce across our partner organisations. This post will initially serve Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust (LUHFT) and Liverpool Women's Hospital (LWH).

The ideal candidate will be a qualified ACP with a strong clinical background across professional groups, experienced in senior clinical leadership and workforce transformation. A deep understanding of ACP education, regulatory frameworks, and clinical governance is essential, alongside excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills. Flexibility to work across multiple sites and at a system level is required.

As the Group Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) Lead, you will provide expert leadership and strategic oversight for advanced clinical practice across the Group. You will support the Group Chief Nurse and key stakeholders in delivering an innovative and aligned ACP workforce strategy.

Leading the ACP Steering Group, you will represent the Group at local, regional, and national levels. You will drive workforce transformation by collaborating with senior leadership teams to develop the ACP workforce across medical, AHP, nursing, and midwifery professions.

Ensuring compliance with national policies and frameworks, including HEE’s Multi-professional Framework and the NHS People Plan, you will oversee education, governance, competency assessment, and professional development for trainee and established ACPs. Your role will also focus on recruiting, developing, and retaining a skilled and compassionate ACP workforce to meet evolving healthcare needs.

Work as a senior clinical leader responsible for leading the development and implementation of advanced practice education and advanced practice roles across the Group, in line with NMC guidance

Work closely with the corporate management team, site Directors of Nursing and Midwifery divisional directors to ensure an ACP/ANP and AMP workforce that meets service needs.

Proactively influence local, regional, and national priorities related to advanced clinical practice.
• Establish credible working relationships at all levels and work alongside the senior
leadership teams to guide and support divisional leadership teams in workforce transformation.
• Lead Advanced Clinical Practice Steering Group and represent the Group’s advanced
level practice at a local, regional, and national level

Work flexibly across all internal and external sites as required.

Ensure alignment with key advanced practice national policies, frameworks, and guidance from regulatory, professional, and advisory bodies.

Lead the initiation, development and effective implementation of guidance, clinical governance, competency assessment and continuing education for both trainee and
trained ACPs.

Lead the development and integration of the Group’s ACP workforce that meets the organisation’s vision and the objectives of the NHS People Plan (2020)

Ensure progressive improvement in the recruitment, education, and retention of the ACP workforce across the Group.
