Have you ever wanted to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable Children and Young People? Our children’s home in Heaton Moor provides residential Care for Children and Young People with their physical, health, emotional and social needs.

We have a rewarding opportunity for an Administrator to work within our children's home in Heaton Moor, Stockport.

You will be working in a caring home environment with the wider team under the leadership of the Registered Manager, nurturing, and supporting the young people providing them with all the care, love, and support that they would receive as if it was their family home.

The hours are to be worked in the Residential Service supporting the team

Location – Heaton Moor, Stockport

Hours – 15 hours per week worked between Monday and Friday with flexibility.

Actual Salary - £9,880.00 per year (£12.67 per hour). Salary pro-rated from a full time equivalent of £24,700.00 per year.

About the role:

  • Establish, monitor and maintain administrative systems which ensure that the records of the young people in residence are accurate and up to date.
  • Act as an interface between the home and outside organisations and individuals to minimise the diversion to operational staff.
  • Record all internal and external communications, including telephone calls, letters, messages and emails, ensuring that they are passed on to the relevant member of staff.
  • To be responsible for the security of the office and its contents and ensure the confidentiality of records and information relating to the young people and staff.
  • Keep accurate financial records and be responsible for internal financial claims.
  • Collate information and provide regular reports for both internal and external agencies on the unit and young people’s issues/progress and other statistical information as requested.
  • Undertake routine office work, including word processing for the Registered Manager and staff team, including accurate and concise minutes of meetings.
  • Act in a discrete and professional manner, always ensuring confidentiality.

What can you bring to the team….

Do you have an NVQ Level 3 in Administration or equivalent, or willingness to work towards the award.

Do you have previous experience of office work, preferably in a residential setting along with efficient and accurate keyboarding skills and ability use Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.

A high standard of written and oral English is also a requirement of this role.

We are seeking someone with good interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise internally and externally with many different stakeholders in a confident and professional manner.

Are you able to prioritise work and use your own initiative working as a team member with flexibility around the needs of the young people.
