It's everyone's stadium...

We are excited to be adding to our current SIA Casual Steward pool to join the team for the 2025/26 season.

The SIA Steward(s) will be responsible for ensuring that a safe, secure and customer-friendly environment is maintained in their designated area at all times throughout an event at Wembley Stadium.

You will need to be able to work well under pressure as you will be roaming and may be called to deal with conflict, disorder, breaches of the ground regulations, searching and ejecting spectators. You will also support medical & fire teams as directed by the Response Supervisor, as and when required.

What will you be doing?

  • Deal with conflict, disorder and breaches of the ground regulations, including searching and ejecting spectators.
  • Attend the Response Team Supervisor or Coordinator's briefing.
  • Be able to receive and follow instructions given by the Response Team Supervisor or Control Room.
  • Assess a situation and initiate the required level of support.
  • Ensure compliance with radio protocol, and reports of disorder and emergencies are reported immediately.
  • Assist and respond to requests by the Management Team.
  • Carry out the ejection of individuals as per the ejection policy and as part of a team.
  • Work closely with the Control Operations, as all ejections will be authorised via them.
  • Complete all ejection and incident reports fully and then review them with your direct supervisor.
  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group's changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being can be maintained.
  • As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

What are we looking for?

Essentially for the role:

  • You must be either qualified / or in training for a Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety (RQF 2021)
  • Hold a Door Supervisor License.
  • Strong conflict management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and strong communication skills with wider team members and spectators.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure.

This role is offered on a casual basis, and those successful will need to be available for Wembley Stadium events, which will involve late evenings and weekend work.

We consider the welfare of all those working at Wembley Stadium to be of the utmost importance. As part of this, and in line with our duty of care under health and safety legislation, including the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, we want to ensure that all staff working as part of the Concert season are suitably protected.

During this season, the Stadium Bowl becomes a designated hearing protection zone during sound checks, rehearsals and the live show. Anybody working within the Stadium bowl, therefore, could be subject to noise levels exceeding the daily limit set at 85dB(A), and by law, this means that ear protection must be provided, and it must be worn. Staff should ensure that they have been provided with hearing protection, and they have a responsibility to ensure that they are wearing this properly and at all times when they are within these hearing protection areas.

What's in it for you?

We pride ourselves on offering a competitive rate of pay as well as great opportunities to develop and grow in your role.

We are committed to ensuring everyone can flourish in their roles, and by doing this, we offer top-of-the-range facilities across two core business locations. We have unique office spaces under the arch of the iconic Wembley National Stadium, which is the home of English football. We are also delighted to have a world-class Elite Performance Centre, St. George's Park in Staffordshire, which is an exceptional setting to develop and inspire high-performing England teams and leaders.

We are a diverse workplace, aspiring to represent football across the country. The Football Association actively promotes inclusion and diversity, encouraging you to be the best version of yourself at work.

We welcome applications from everyone and are proud to be an equal opportunities employer. If you have any particular requirements in respect of the recruitment or interview process, please mention this during your application.
