Job Title: Clinical Waste Treatment Site ManagerLocations: Nottingham & Bradford
About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Manager to oversee the operations of our Clinical Waste Treatment Facilities based in Nottingham and Bradford. This is a key leadership position with responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient management of clinical waste, in line with all relevant UK legislation and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in hazardous waste management, operational site leadership, and a sound understanding of environmental and health & safety compliance. This role plays a crucial part in supporting business performance, achieving KPIs, and maintaining high standards of safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
-Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of both Nottingham and Bradford clinical waste sites.
-Ensure full compliance with all applicable UK environmental, health & safety, and ISO standards.
-Oversee the handling, treatment, and appropriate off-site transfer of clinical waste.
-Maintain operational efficiency whilst managing staffing levels effectively.
-Provide leadership, guidance, and development to site teams to ensure high performance.
-Implement and maintain site procedures to minimise environmental impact and uphold health and safety standards.
Candidate ProfileWe are looking for a proactive, hands-on leader with strong operational experience and a thorough understanding of the regulatory framework for clinical and hazardous waste in the UK.
Essential Requirements
-WAMITAB/COTC Level 4 High Risk Operator Competence Certificate (Physical and Chemical Treatment of Hazardous Waste).
-Demonstrable experience of managing teams and leading site-based operations.
-Practical background in clinical or hazardous waste management, recycling, or similar sectors.
-Strong working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and best practice.
Desirable Qualifications
-IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate.
-DGSA
Relevant Previous Job Titles May Include:Clinical Waste Site Manager, Waste Operations Manager, Transfer Station Manager, MRF Manager, MBT Supervisor, WEEE Operations Manager, Production Manager, Scrap Metal Yard Manager, Confidential Waste Depot Manager, or similar leadership roles within the UK waste and environmental services sector.
