This post provides input for service users and their families/carers in the Early Intervention in Psychosis Team. The Early Intervention Team works with people with first episode of psychosis, aiming to minimise the impact of the consequence of psychosis and to support recovery through the provision of recovery focused and enabling care

This post provides:

A psychological therapies service across all sectors of care in line with qualifications in the person specification, providing:

• Highly specialist assessment

• Direct provision of systemic psychotherapy and other systemic intervention (consultation, brief systemic intervention, group work) in addition to the range of psychological therapies covered by NICE guidelines and the National Standards for Early Intervention (including CBT, and other models and model-informed treatments) to individuals, families, networks, and community groups.

• Joint delivery of intervention with other members of the EIS team to assist engagement.

• Joint therapeutic work with other colleagues in the EIS Team

• Systemic Input/ Consultation to EIS team and multi-disciplinary meetings.

• Structured internal supervision or consultation groups, and reflective practice.

• consultation on clients to non-psychological therapist colleagues and to professional and non-professional staff in local mental health services

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

· Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the framework of the service’s policies and procedures

· To maintain a clinical caseload of highly complex and demanding psychological/psychotherapeutic interventions, assessments as well as treatment and consultation, formulating and implementing appropriate treatment plans.



· To provide in specialist systemic assessments to clients referred to the teams based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care

· To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological and/or systemic intervention/ treatment and/or management of a client’s and their family’s system of concern, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client’s problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings.
