Summary


An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated assistant psychologist to work within the Adult Inpatient services in Haringey. Your role will involve working with the acute Psychology team and wider multidisciplinary team, to support the provision of psychological therapies and assessments.

The role offers a valuable opportunity for people with excellent communication skills, and relevant experiences, to progress further in their career. You will be supervised by a clinical psychologist and attend and contribute to team reflective spaces. The post is highly suitable for candidates who aspire to future clinical psychology training and other psychological therapy professions.

The role will include co-facilitation of psychologically informed groups, supporting qualified clinicians with assessment and brief therapeutic interventions, with the aim of being able to do this independently. You will be working alongside MDT colleagues to support service-users, carers and staff, and assisting in service development. We are seeking candidates who hold an enthusiasm for acute work and who have experience in working with people with Autistic people.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

Clinical

Under appropriate supervision from a qualified clinical psychologist

- To initially co-facilitate psychological assessments and formulation for service users in the Haringey Adult inpatient wards at Blossom Court, with the aim of being able to conduct certain aspects of this task independently.

- Plan, co-facilitate, and review groups in the ward environment.

- Attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.

- To assist the psychologists in the development of individual or group clinical materials or training materials.

Service Development/Research

- To support the team/service in planning and delivering services which meet the needs of the local community.

- To support the dissemination of research and service evaluation findings through presentations or published articles.

- To undertake data collection, analysis and the production of reports

- To undertake searches of evidence based literature to assist in the development of the Trust of evidence based practice.
