The Army Knowledge Information Management (KIM) team is part of the Chief Technology Office within the Directorate of Information at Army Headquarters, Andover. The team provide direction and guidance to KIM professionals across the Army. They are responsible for delivering a range of services including the provisioning and configuration of Microsoft M365 SharePoint sites, developing, and conducting Holding to Account KIM activities, plan TLB records management and specialist KIM upskilling. Army KIM exist to protect Army Chief Information Officer from legal challenge and help deliver digital transformation.

The Army Top Level Budget (TLB) Records Manager role is accountable for conducting records management activities that ensure compliance with MOD / Army records policy and UK Government legislation. It will provide records management policy advice and guidance to Army KIM Professionals, deliver the Army element of the Defence Records Management Improvement Plan and develop, implement, and stand up a specialist records management program of work to review the governance of records and reduce Army records stored in the legacy digital heap and at MOD archives.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the Army, ensure records are properly managed through life to the benefit of the organisation and deliver improved records management policy and processes.

Key responsibilities:

Line manage x1 Executive Officer.
Provide advice and guidance on all aspects of Record Management policy, processes, and procedures to the Army Information Professional community.
Update and develop Army records management policy and direction.
Develop, publish, and maintain an Army Records Management Improvement Plan.
Develop and implement an approach to sentencing the Army element of the legacy digital and physical records archive.
Lead the delivery of the physical records landscape review.
Attendance at the following meetings and boards:
MOD Records Management Steering Group (when required).
Army Records Management Tiger Team (Chair).

This role will provide opportunities to further develop core and functional skills with potential to work towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Librarian Professionals (CILIP) and the Information and Records Management Society (IRMS).
