£17,908 per annum plus holiday allowance (rising to £18,629 plus holiday allowance after successful completion of probationary period)
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (term time only) (Other variable hours may be available in the Science Centre during school holidays)
We are recruiting for our Visitor Experience Team within our schools team and are looking for people who are as passionate as we are about engaging people with science.
As someone who is customer focused, your role will be to make a visit to Life exciting, entertaining, informative and fun. You will work primarily with schools, and occasionally on outreach in schools and community settings. You will be a confident performer, who can deliver interactive science activities and curriculum linked workshops, sometimes in a lab setting.
You will have theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of molecular biology including PCR. You will be curious, enthusiastic, have excellent communication skills and enjoy presenting to audiences. You will also share our desire to help everyone understand better the relevance of science to their lives.
Comprehensive training will be provided.
This role is primarily term time. Additional hours may be available during school holidays working as an Explainer in the wider team within the Science Centre.
