Job Title: Part-Time Finance Assistant
Location: Lewes
Department: Finance
Reports to: Finance Manager
Hours: 12 to 16 hours per week over 4 days a week. Flexible on the actual work hours
Salary: £13.00 to £14.00ph

Start Date: ASAP - Min 4 months and could well be extended

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Finance Assistant to support our finance team with day-to-day administrative and financial tasks. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in finance and accounting within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with data entry and maintaining financial records
  • Process invoices and expense claims
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
  • Help prepare financial reports and spreadsheets
  • Maintain filing systems for financial documents
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve queries
  • Perform other administrative duties as required

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of finance or accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience in a finance or administrative role is a plus but not essential

Desirable Qualifications:

  • At least a year's experience in a Finance Assistant role
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
