Primary Purpose
Use thorough working knowledge of the King’s Harbour Master (KHM) principles to effectively support KHM Plymouth to meet their objectives. Employ best practice management techniques and represent KHM in Devonport Naval Base management groups.
Perform the duties of the KHM Technical Representative to ensure the Operational Capability of HMNB Devonport Waterfront infrastructure. This includes:
demanding and overseeing the necessary support to enable the safe berthing of ships and submarines
acting as KHM’s point of contact for the Alongside Services (ALS) Team
conducting waterfront rounds and low water (LW) infrastructure inspections
Secondary Purpose
To introduce, develop, implement and maintain all aspects of long, medium and short term departmental contingency plans for nuclear, non-nuclear, maritime and non-maritime crisis and peacetime emergencies and exercises, including those involving local authority emergency services and civilian organisations so that the King’s Harbour Master’s objectives are met.
This is a uniform grade post - uniform is to be worn and will be provided.
