Are you a highly organised professional with a talent for supporting senior leaders and driving operational excellence? The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) is looking for a proactive Business Support Manager to join our Guidance and Education Systems Team. In this pivotal role, you’ll provide essential administrative and business support to the Strategic Planning & Portfolio Manager and other senior team members during a key period of change and growth. Role Overview

The Business Support Manager will report directly to the Strategic Planning & Portfolio Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality business and administrative support to the Strategic Planning & Portfolio Manager and senior managers in the Guidance & Education Systems Team
  • Responsible for Team Steering Group administration and secretariat
    • Scheduling Steering Group meetings
    • Co-ordinating with core member calendars and
    • Manage additional members input and attendance for agenda discussions
    • Manage inputs and contributions required for Steering Group meeting
    • Manage attendee, action and decision logs, liaising with attendees and contributors to review and update logs
    • Facilitate meeting pack development, timelines and sign off meetings with Corporate Director
    • Establish and drive improvements to supporting processes
  • Support the Strategic Planning & Portfolio Manager in the delivery of project activity – setting up workshops, contributing to process development and project activities
  • Arranging meetings, booking facilities/equipment, preparing agendas and wider associated administrative activities
  • Support and facilitate communications, attending meetings, and produce minutes and actions of said meetings in a timely fashion.
  • Connecting with key enabling functions to support the Team with MaPS finance and commercial processes,
  • Collaborating with other members of the Guidance & Education Systems Teams to deliver successful outcomes

You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience.

To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience in a business support role
  • The ability to correspond with internal and external stakeholders with diplomacy
  • Good relationship management skills, and the ability to work well within a newly formed and dynamic team
  • The ability to work autonomously and within a team, exercising sound judgement and using your initiative
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment, where the day-to-day ask may change often
  • Confidence in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to balance a heavy workload and competing priorities
  • The ability to prioritise effectively
