Hybrid Working

Join us at the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) as a Trainer. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact, by delivering engaging and effective training to our frontline contact centre colleagues.

You will lead the facilitation of onboarding, upskilling, and briefings, ensuring colleagues are equipped to provide an excellent customer experience. In addition to training delivery, you’ll support the design and evaluation of curriculum, identify opportunities to enhance learning materials and delivery methods, and measure the success of interventions through clear, data-driven outcomes. Working closely with the Quality, Training and Knowledge Team, Operations, and other stakeholders, you’ll help embed continuous learning and improvement into the organisation’s culture—using a variety of delivery tools to maximise impact while minimising operational disruption.

Role Overview

The Trainer will report directly to the Training Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality training across MaPS customer teams, with a strong focus on onboarding, upskilling, and soft skills development.
  • Facilitating onboarding programmes for new colleagues across a range of areas and specialisms.
  • Leading upskill and soft skills sessions tailored to a range of audiences
  • Partnering with business areas to conduct training needs analysis and design bespoke learning interventions that improve speed to competency and enhance both customer and employee experience.
  • Staying closely connected to frontline operations to ensure training content remains up to date and appropriate.
  • Measuring the effectiveness of training through key metrics such as speed to competency, enhanced customer experience, quality and operational performance metrics.
  • Supporting the transformation of learning through the 70/20/10 model, to maximise knowledge, skills, and behaviours with minimal operational impact.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all training activities to support efficiency and reporting.
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert for training across multiple areas, providing guidance and consistency in delivery.
  • Working with operational SMEs to ensure training interventions are fit for purpose.
  • Supporting the rollout of the competence framework and other internal MaPS initiatives to the external partner as required.
  • Assisting with training-related reporting requirements.

You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience.

To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate

  • Facilitation Skills: Demonstrable experience in dynamic training delivery, catering to diverse learning styles. This includes both technical and soft skills training for frontline colleagues and first-line managers.
  • Delivery Methods: Proven experience in facilitating learning through various formats, including workshops, virtual sessions, and one-to-one coaching to support on-the-job development.
  • Training Design Expertise: Skilled in designing and developing impactful learning interventions using multiple delivery mechanisms such as face-to-face, virtual, e-learning, and distance learning.
  • Training Needs Analysis: Demonstrated ability to conduct TNAs and identify clear, measurable learning needs to inform targeted training solutions.
  • Reporting: Competent in gathering and analysing training data to identify trends and measure the effectiveness of learning interventions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Confident in working with stakeholders at all levels to ensure training solutions align with business needs and strategic objectives.
