Your Job

The College is looking to appoint an organised and enthusiastic Science Technician Chemistry. The post holder will work as part of a team to deliver practical equipment and materials for the chemistry department, so that staff and students can carry out practical work efficiently, accurately and safely.

The ideal candidate will prepare materials for practical classes, demonstrations, and examinations, ensuring all chemicals are accurately labelled and ready for use. You will monitor stock levels regularly, completing internal requisitions to maintain adequate supplies. Additionally, you will receive and inspect new deliveries to ensure materials arrive in good condition.

This role will ensure the safe custody of equipment and consumables within the science faculty as well as identifying equipment for maintenance and repair. Additionally, you will source materials which are not readily available or require special handling, and purchase goods from external sources whilst being mindful to minimise expenditure to the college.
