Crynodeb

The Adult Social Care (ASC) vision in Hull is of ‘a life not a service’. Adult Social Care is person centred and focuses on people’s strengths to support them to take control of improving their own health, resilience, and wellbeing. We want to maximise people’s independence so they can achieve their goals and aspirations and live life to the fullest.
We are excited to advertise 2 x Assistant Manager posts to support the Registered Manager in managing The Supporting Independence Teams’ ASC Out of Hours provision and the HOOTs Team.
The OOH's team respond to emergency provision whilst the majority of statutory and regulated services are closed to referrals. They respond to support all emergency services to ensure provisions are put in place to mitigate risks to vulnerable adults. The risks they face are often unknown but responding is essential.
The HOOTS team work alongside, but separately from the OOH team to provide care and support to adults living within their own homes overnight – providing care calls at set times for many reasons such as personal care, medication, support with turning in bed and in response to lifeline call outs, providing an emergency response when individuals have activated their lifeline.
The role will operate between the hours of 8pm and 4am covering a 7 day working rota.
The successful person will provide leadership and act as a role model for good practice including personalised approaches to people's care and support, signposting to other provision and effectively support family and other carers to promote independence and self directed support for people with long term needs.
The successful person must have a well developed understanding to act as a lead for the out of hours safeguarding of vulnerable adults. They must provide guidance for staff and managers on relevant legislation and regulatory requirements to maintain the Council's reputation and contribute to improving its standing as a social care provider and commissioner.
It is essential to be able to support and contribute to the conversion of strategic objectives into operational achievements, improving outcomes for local people by helping them to live safely and well in their own homes.
It is essential to assist in the Identification of unmet needs and gaps in local provision. Contribute to the monitoring of service delivery, analysing performance and take corrective action to improve performance.
The successful person will assist in planning to meet the requirements for the corporate workforce and wider health and care community's training needs. Identifying and prioritising training needs in the workplace and developing, translating and communicating these needs for training into a team plan to measure and meet the Council's expectations for excellence in care and support.
Working with the Registered Manager, you will develop and maintain quality standards that reflect excellence in care.
You will be required to work with managers, commissioners, procurement officers, local businesses and care providers contributing to the planning and implementation of the city strategies including those impacting on older people.
