Crynodeb
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Supported Living team, who support people with learning disabilities to live independent, fulfilling lives.
We believe that people want to work in social care to make a positive difference in people’s lives. We also believe that work should be fun – we spend too much time doing it for it not to be. Our business is our people and to allow people to do the best possible in their job, we believe in a person-centered and flexible approach.
About you
You’ll be a flexible person with a can-do attitude. You’ll have the ability to develop appropriate relationships with people and to provide support that makes a positive difference. You will have experience of working with a variety of adults with a learning disability in their homes and / or as members of the wider community. You will see your role as enabling people to control and define their own lives, supporting them to reach their potential. We want someone with the right attitude and values who shares our purpose and will fit into our team and enhance it even more.
About the role
As an operational support officer, you will provide consistent and inspirational leadership to the service, ensuring that all staff and volunteers are motivated, empowered, valued and performing to their full potential.
You will work with the service manager and manage the service in their absence to ensure that people we support are receiving a safe, consistent, high-quality service that is compliant with all legislative requirements.
You will be involved in monitoring services through audits and following the quality assurance framework. You will ensure all support delivered is person-centred and in line with our values when:
- supporting individual and team development
- managing inductions
- facilitating training sessions around Moving and Handling, Risk Assessments, etc
- carrying out regular supervisions and annual appraisals
You will also support our out-of-hours, on-call service on a rota basis.
