Your new role
As Credit Controller, you'll be a key member of the finance team, responsible for managing credit risk and ensuring timely collections. You'll work closely with clients and internal departments to maintain healthy cash flow and resolve payment issues with professionalism and tact.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring customer accounts and identifying overdue payments
- Chasing outstanding debts via phone, email, and written communication
- Negotiating payment plans and resolving account queries
- Assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing clients
- Preparing aged debt reports and cash flow forecasts
- Collaborating with sales and customer service to resolve disputes
- Supporting month-end and year-end financial processes
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable
- Experience within the wholesale and manufacturing sector, particularly in environments involving stock management.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Confidence of working independently and managing multiple priorities
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Knowledge of financial regulations and GDPR compliance
Bonus points for:
- AAT or equivalent finance qualification
- Experience ins using SAP
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Familiarity with CRM systems and automated invoicing tools
