Providing exceptional support to the Director - Engineering & Operations. Managing the Director’s diary, while providing logistical support for meetings. Leading briefings in meetings and ensuring timely submissions for projects. These are just some of the things you’ll be doing when you join us as an Executive Assistant. You’ll also have a variety of other responsibilities, from handling all the Director’s expenses to helping them manage staff, including annual leave requests and performance reviews, organising events like team away days and visits to Hanslope Park, and even planning overseas visits.
But there’s more to it. You’ll also be providing operational support to the rest of the directorate from time to time. That means working closely with a variety of people, both internally and externally. This will also include supporting the Director’s network of contacts by maintaining the stakeholder directory and handling senior-level enquiries with confidence and sound judgment. In addition to that, you should expect to travel frequently when you join us, especially between London and Milton Keynes.
Bring your administrative skills to where it matters most
Experience in an administrative role – like being an Executive Assistant, or similar – where you closely worked with senior officials and mastered the ability to ‘manage upwards’, will take you far in this role. Your communication skills will give you an edge while interacting with the different stakeholders or drafting senior board papers, where you’re able to proofread, summarise and communicate complex information with ease. You’re a people person, so providing high levels of customer service comes naturally to you. Having worked with government bodies in the past, your diplomatic and organisation skills, coupled with your ability to stay calm under pressure, will help you deal with sensitive information and stay on top of deadlines. You’ll also be adept at using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel.
Discover the support you need to grow your career further
Working with us, you’ll help keep people, information, and assets safe around the world. It’s a role you can feel proud of; and we aim to make every part of your career just as rewarding. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.
Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Security Check (SC) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website: https://www.fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/
