Are you a driven and innovative Occupational Therapist ready to elevate your specialist practice? Join The Royal London Hospital, the leading tertiary Neurosciences and Major Trauma centre for North East London and Essex, and become a vital leader in our cutting-edge Stroke Therapy Team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work within one of London’s eight designated Hyper-Acute Stroke Units (HASUs)—a centre of excellence for acute stroke rehabilitation and care. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, patient-centred occupational therapy from the Emergency Department (ED) and for patients temporarily placed on non-stroke wards.

Why this role is truly exceptional:
• Specialist Stroke Practice
Apply and deepen your expertise in acute stroke rehabilitation, supporting patients from the earliest stage of their recovery journey.
• Leadership & Clinical Supervision
Lead and mentor your therapy team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous professional development.
• Integrated Multi-Disciplinary Teamwork
Collaborate closely with neurologists, physiotherapists, nurses, and other specialists to deliver seamless, holistic care.
• Service Innovation
Be part of a pioneering initiative aimed at improving patient flow and experience across the stroke pathway—from ED onward—while influencing practice at a regional level.
• Lead a Multidisciplinary Stroke Therapy Team
Oversee a team that includes Band 6 Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy posts, delivering specialist care to stroke patients in the Emergency Department and on non-stroke wards.
• Advanced Clinical Practice
Play a major and specialist role in the advanced assessment, treatment, and clinical management of stroke patients—determining clinical diagnosis, functional deficits, and appropriate occupational therapy interventions.
• Service Efficiency & Innovation
Develop dynamic, efficient, and effective OT working processes to support a fully multi-professional team approach in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Service Development & Leadership
Collaborate with Clinical Lead Therapists to shape and evolve the service in response to changing health and social care priorities.
• Team Management & Cross-Speciality Work
Be responsible for a team within your clinical area, with the potential to work across more than one speciality.
• Support a 7-Day Service Model
Contribute to a 7-day working rota to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
