If you are an adaptable and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant, Randstad Education has the perfect opportunity for you. We are urgently seeking dedicated individuals to work on a flexible supply basis across a variety of primary and secondary schools in the Wakefield area.

As a supply SEN TA, you will have the unique opportunity to support students with diverse needs in different settings. One day you might be providing crucial 1-to-1 support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and the next you could be working with a small group of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is ideal for a confident practitioner who can build rapport quickly and seamlessly integrate into a new school team.

Your role will involve:

• Providing high-quality, targeted support to students with a range of special educational needs.

• Quickly adapting to the policies, routines, and specific needs of different school environments.

• Implementing effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning atmosphere.

• Working collaboratively with teachers and other staff to support student progress, even on a short-term basis.

• Demonstrating resilience, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.

The successful candidate will have:

• Significant experience working with children or young people with SEN.

• A profound understanding of various needs, including but not limited to ASD, SEMH, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

• The ability to be highly flexible, adaptable, and ready to work at short notice.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or the willingness to obtain one.
