Job Summary
The main aims of this role are to be responsible for the on-site set up, take down, and general smooth running of the Royal Arsenal Market and associated events, and also Kidbrooke Village Market and associated events.
Variable hours permanent contract of approximately 270 hours per annum, approximately 25 hours per month (please note there are peak months where hours increase, and low months where they will decrease).
Pay rate: £13.85 per hour (London Living Wage).
Application closing date: 7th August at 5pm, and interviews will be held on 12th August and 14th August.
Specific Duties
• With the support of the Market Manager: Ensure the setting up and taking down of markets following site plans supplied. This includes working in a manual capacity to set up equipment including gazebos, tables, chairs, PA system, and any other items as required for the event, and in accordance with H&S, and under instruction of the Market Manager On-Site
• Ensure that the event is run smoothly adhering to H&S including waste management
• Support other market staff and volunteers as needed
• Contribute to the support of other markets when required
• Dealing with any incidents on-site immediately by flagging them to the Market Manager. Post-event reporting them to Line Manager in writing in the appropriate manner within 24 hours.
• Any other on-site tasks as requested by Line Manager
• To attend any update meetings as requested by Line Manager
Communications
• Promotion of Markets on social media platforms may be required; this will primarily be done during the event to encourage people to attend. This should always be dynamic/ positive, happy, and professional looking whenever possible
• Ensuring that all the pictures and videos are sent to Line Manager
• Ensuring that photographs or short video clips are taken of the market, this can include happy looking attendees, busy periods, queues or other interesting points
• Any other communication tasks as requested by Line Manager
