Senior Site Engineer £60,000 to £65,000 + Package

Scotland (Various Locations)
Permanent | Full-Time

We are working closely with a growing and well-established civil engineering contractor that's delivering high-profile infrastructure projects across Scotland. Due to continued growth and a healthy forward order book, they are looking to add an experienced Senior Site Engineer to support the successful delivery of a wide range of civils and infrastructure schemes.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Acting as the lead engineer on-site, ensuring technical excellence and overseeing junior engineers

  • Setting out works, surveying and ensuring all technical drawings and specifications are followed accurately

  • Liaising closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors and client reps to maintain alignment and productivity

  • Managing quality assurance documentation, ITPs, RAMS, permits and daily reporting

  • Coordinating temporary works and monitoring health & safety compliance

  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a positive, safety-conscious site culture

What Background Will Work Well:
  • A strong civils background - particularly infrastructure, drainage, groundworks, earthworks, utilities, substations, or energy/renewables projects

  • Experience working for a principal contractor or tier 2 subcontractor on medium-to-large civil engineering schemes

  • Proficiency with setting out using robotic total station and GPS equipment

  • Confident in producing and managing technical documentation (QA records, as-builts, method statements, permits, etc.)

  • Comfortable leading small teams and mentoring graduate or junior engineers

  • Relevant qualifications in civil engineering (HNC/HND/Degree)

  • CSCS card (Engineer or higher), SMSTS or SSSTS, and First Aid (desirable)

What's in It for You?
  • Company vehicle or allowance

  • Structured career progression - opportunities to step into Site Agent or Project Engineer roles

  • Ongoing training and CPD support (internal & external)

  • Excellent pipeline of secured long-term work across infrastructure and renewables

  • Supportive, collaborative environment with genuine low staff turnover

  • Recognition for performance and long-term contribution
