Reporting to the Chief Delivery Officer and working closely with the Chief Finance Officer, the Value for Patients Director will be instrumental in developing and delivering a multi-year financial recovery and organisational transformation strategy.

The role spans all six Clinical Groups and corporate functions, requiring deep collaboration with clinical, operational, and executive teams. With responsibility for embedding Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC) principles across the organisation, you will play a strategic role in driving data-informed decision-making and ensuring we invest in what matters most to our patients.

This is not a traditional finance-led recovery role — it is a delivery and transformation role with high visibility across the Trust and wider system. You will be a key figure in MFT’s recovery journey and contribute directly to our long-term strategic priorities.

As part of the role you will oversee the Trust’s Value for Patients Programme Management Office (PMO), supporting the development, tracking, and delivery of large-scale cost improvement and income initiatives.

You will be a credible, values-driven leader with a strong track record of delivering complex transformation programmes in large-scale NHS provider or consultancy settings. The ability to effectively influence, and challenge where appropriate, clinical, operational, and executive colleagues across the organisation is essential, as is the ability to identify opportunities convert clinical change into tangible, cash-releasing savings.

You will bring:
- Deep understanding of productivity, cost improvement and performance levers in the NHS
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with clinical leaders and executives
- Expertise in governance, reporting and accountability frameworks to support benefit realisation
- A clear grasp of Value-Based Healthcare and the ability to apply it pragmatically in an NHS context
