The Governors, staff and pupils of Ellenbrook Community Primary School are seeking to appoint an aspirational, collaborative Headteacher to fulfil this exciting role in our school, where every child’s potential is nurtured, every family’s ambitions are supported, and every staff member’s dedication is celebrated.
Ellenbrook is a two form entry primary school, with a single entry Nursery and very popular wrap around care, via a breakfast and after school club. A supportive school community, with parents who are engaged and heavily invested in their children’s achievements, both academically and pastorally, surrounds our bright and enthusiastic pupils. This, coupled with a passionate, nurturing and dedicated staff and a strong, proactive Governing Board, is what makes our school very special.
Our school’s ethos is built upon teamwork and mutual respect. Staff, parents and governors work together to ensure that each student is empowered to achieve their utmost potential. As we embark on this journey to find our next Headteacher, we invite candidates who share our passion for education, our commitment to maintaining high academic standards and the well-being of every child to apply. We are encouraging applicants who possess strong, dynamic leadership skills that will empower all stakeholders to work together with a shared ethos and belief in our school.
We would like someone who will:
- Be an ambitious and experienced Headteacher and relish the opportunity to be involved in the development of a new school vision; develop and sustain a creative, forward-thinking and inclusive learning culture for all across our school.
- Be a friendly, approachable, proactive and inspirational leader who can share and clearly communicate their ambitions for the long-term future and development of the school, bringing new perspectives and initiatives and build upon our strengths.
- Be a positive role model and reflective practitioner, with the ability to motivate children and staff alike, inspiring all to reach their full potential, whilst engaging and encouraging the appetite for learning within the whole school community, with sensitivity and understanding.
- Further a culture of collaboration and personal development with high regard for staff support, wellbeing, professional development and resilience.
- Be an innovative Headteacher who recognises the benefit of opportunities outside the classroom - developing life skills and an understanding of the modern world, whilst fostering the best possible outcomes for every child, through creative teaching and learning.
- Have a strong business and financial understanding and work collaboratively with our Business Manager and Governors to maintain our secure financial position while continuing to provide exceptional opportunities to our pupils.
- Work with our committed staff team to ensure we continue to strive for, maintain and look to improve the already high standards, as recognised in our recent OFSTED inspection, and further empower our middle and senior leaders to build upon the broad curriculum already in place.
- Value every child and strive to ensure that both pupils and staff have high aspirations for achievement.
- Further develop our use of technology throughout and have a commitment to develop the whole child through the curriculum and in exciting extra curricular activities, providing fulfilling educational, cultural and sporting development - continuing to make learning a happy and engaging experience for every child.
We can offer:
- Friendly, confident and enthusiastic children, who make excellent progress and achieve exceptionally well, displaying very positive attitudes towards learning.
- A welcoming environment with support from parents, carers and governors who prioritise education.
- An exciting opportunity to bring a fresh approach to a sought after school with an incredibly passionate, highly dedicated and ambitious staff team, who have an ongoing commitment to continued professional development.
- A professional, skilled and supportive Governing Board who are fully invested in achieving success for the pupils and promoting staff wellbeing.
- Community support and collaboration with families in annual school activities.
- A thriving and dedicated PTA already extremely well established with very well attended and popular events running throughout the academic year.
Our children would like you to be someone:
- Who cares about us all and is a presence around our school.
- Who is enthusiastic, hardworking and an excellent educator.
- Who is kind, responsible, makes good decisions and is an excellent listener.
- Who values our safety and mental wellbeing and that of the adults who work at our school.
- Who respects others and helps us understand the meaning of respect.
- Who understands our school community and what we are passionate about.
Visits to our school are positively encouraged. Please contact the school office on 0161 799 6347 to arrange your visit.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment and all appointments will be subject to appropriate vetting, including an enhanced DBS disclosure check.
