Business Development Manager | South of England (Field-based) — occasional visits to London Head Office (SW1Y 4LB) | Full Time | £40,000–£45,000+ bonus, company car, mobile, laptop

Our client has been adding colour to people’s lives for over 190 years, but they're not here to rest on heritage. They are ambitious and looking for a sharp-minded Business Development Manager to help expand their customer base and build meaningful partnerships that move the dial.

This is a field-based role covering the South of the UK. The successful candidate will rarely need to visit the Head Office, which is a 3-minute walk from Kings Cross and St Pancras stations. Applications from candidates based in other locations across the South are also welcome.

If you're commercially driven, people-savvy, and love spotting opportunities others miss, this could be the role for you.

Are you the right person for the job?

• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to visit customers is essential
• A degree or equivalent qualification in business studies (or a relevant field)
• At least 3 years’ experience in a sales or business development role
• A proven track record of growing accounts and launching new products
• Strong commercial acumen: analytical, numerate and outcomes-focused
• A self-starter attitude, confident working independently and within a team
• Exceptional attention to detail and a natural sense of urgency
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital tools

What will your role look like?

• Building trusted relationships with key customers and stakeholders
• Driving revenue and margin performance within your territory
• Identifying and converting new business opportunities
• Delivering impactful product training to bring our portfolio to life
• Strategic journey planning and focused customer visits
• Keeping CRM records accurate and up to date
• Monitoring competitors and sharing market insights
• Prioritising high-value accounts
• Leading monthly forecasting and reporting
• Managing your time, spend, and resources efficiently

What can you expect in return?

• Competitive salary and performance bonus
• Company car
• Mobile phone and laptop
• Pension scheme
• Cycle to Work Scheme
• Employee Assistance Programme
• Free paint allowance up to £250 annually

Our client believes creativity thrives when diverse perspectives come together. They welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, regardless of race, gender, age, ability, religion, or identity.
