Motor Claims Handler – Lead (Step into Team Leader role)
Bolton | Office-based with flexible working options
Minimum of £31,500++ depending on experience
Full-time | Monday to Friday | 9am–5pm
If you're an experienced Motor Claims Handler who’s ready to take on more – more responsibility, more influence, and more opportunity – this role is built for you.
We’re looking for a technically strong handler with a natural ability to support others. You’ll step into a lead role where you’ll be at the heart of the recovery claims process and the first point of support for your team. Whether you’ve led before or have been the go-to person in the team, this is your chance to move into a recognised leadership position.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead and support a team of recovery claims handlers
Manage complex claims, escalations, and complaint handling
Coach and mentor the team to develop their skills
Monitor KPIs and team performance, spotting patterns early
Collaborate with other departments to drive recovery results
Ensure full FCA compliance and data confidentiality
Support recruitment, onboarding and people decisions in the team
What You’ll Need:
Solid experience in motor recovery claims
Either team leadership experience, or clear evidence of mentoring others
Strong communicator – confident with both colleagues and customers
Good knowledge of FCA, FOS, and claims regulation
Organised, calm under pressure, and good at juggling multiple tasks
CII Certificate in Insurance (or actively working towards it) – Dip CII a bonus
Confident with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
What’s In It For You:
Your birthday off + half a day for Christmas shopping
Extra holidays with length of service
Holiday sell-back scheme
Bonus for exceeding expectations
Support with further qualifications
Free parking and relaxed dress code
Cycle to work scheme
Friendly, supportive team with trained mental health first aiders
Ready to lead from the front?
If you’re looking for the next step – with the support and recognition to go with it – we’d love to hear from you.
