Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire (NG24)

Pay: £18,732 - £20,293 per annum

Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm | Full-time | Term Time Only

Start Date: September 2025 (Interviews as soon as possible)

Contract: Long term to permanent

Are you experienced in supporting children with special educational needs and looking for a new opportunity?

Long Term Futures are working with a specialist independent school in Newark that supports pupils aged 4-16 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and associated needs. The school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team and work flexibly across all age groups.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about SEN, confident managing a range of needs and behaviours and looking to progress into a permanent role within the school.

Responsibilities:
- Support students across a range of subjects and developmental stages
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and learning interventions under teacher guidance
- Provide 1:1 and small group targeted support
- Assist with handwriting, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing
- Record daily evidence of engagement and progress
- Promote inclusion and positive behaviour strategies
- Provide personal care where needed and promote pupil independence

Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is essential
- A Level 3 TA qualification or Level 3 in Child Development is highly desirable
- Calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour and communication
- An enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)
