Weekly Rate: £455-£480
Start Date: 01/09/2025
Hours: Monday to Friday- 8:30am to 3:30PM (Term Time Only)
Contract: Long Term to Permanent
We're recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rugby (CV22). This full-time role involves supporting a Year 4 pupil with autism who is working on a highly personalised curriculum at an Early Years level.
You'll be delivering consistent, nurturing 1:1 support focused on communication, engagement, and independence. A calm, creative and child-led approach is essential, with experience supporting non-traditional learning pathways and working at EYFS level within a primary school.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with ASD
- Deliver a tailored EYFS-level curriculum
- Use visuals, sensory tools, and communication strategies
- Create and maintain a consistent environment
- Focus on early learning goals - communication, interaction, independence
- Collaborate with the SENCO and external specialists
- Track progress through individualised learning plans
The Ideal Candidate:
- Level 2/3 TA qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting children with autism and complex needs
- Familiarity with EYFS learning and developmental milestones
- Creative, patient and flexible in approach
- Skilled in using visuals, Makaton, or PECS (desirable)
- Able to work closely with families and outside agencies
