We have an exciting opportunity for a Residence Life Communications Officer to work within the University.

The university is investing in how we support students in our halls of residence. From September 2025 we will be introducing a professional ResLife team whose role will be to build the community and work with students to prioritize welfare, events and community. Teams will work closely together on new and existing initiatives, for example, linking into SRC Volunteering and GUEST activities, maximizing awareness and equitable opportunity to access, regardless of residence type.

We are excited to announce this opportunity. The Communications Officer will play a pivotal role in promoting our new Residence Life Service. Your role will enhance the visibility of our dynamic and proactive welfare and events program which will be delivered across our halls of residence. You will be communicating the work of the Residence Life team to our student population in halls as well as the wider University.

We’re seeking a creative communicator to develop clear, engaging content for current and prospective students. This role includes creating a communications strategy across events, social media, website content, and email, while following University of Glasgow guidelines and amplifying the student voice. The ideal candidate will be a skilled content creator with experience in designing eye-catching materials and a strong command of platforms like Canva, Instagram, and TikTok. You’ll also thrive in collaborative settings, with strong interpersonal, written and digital skills. You’ll lead the promotion of our Residence Life Service and support the re-branding of our service in line with the new service model.

This post is open ended and part time (17.5hrs per week) working with students in our residences. A high degree of flexibility is required as evenings and weekends work with be required alongside student availability.
