HMS is seeking a visionary and driven Operations Director – Maintenance to lead high-impact service delivery and shape the future
of our maintenance operations.
* Reporting to: Managing Director, HMS
* Direct Reports: Heads of Service within the Maintenance Directorate
* Location: North-West Based (Torus Group Heartlands)
About the Role:
As Operations Director – Maintenance, you’ll oversee a directorate of over 400 colleagues and a turnover of approximately £60
million. Your remit spans responsive repairs, void maintenance, compliance services, environmental operations, and more. This
pivotal leadership role will drive transformation, operational excellence, and a customer-focused delivery – while ensuring high
performance, profitability, and regulatory compliance.
You’ll sit at the heart of HMS's leadership team, reporting directly to the Managing Director, and presenting to the HMS Board.
You’ll shape strategy, lead change, and embed a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and a strong customer excellence
focus that directly benefits the communities we serve.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven track record of leading maintenance, repairs, customer focussed operations at a senior level.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to transform operational delivery and embed a culture of performance and excellence.
* Strong understanding of commercial delivery, compliance, and customer service in a social impact context.
* Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. construction, leadership, business) with a commitment to continuous professional
development.
* Passionate leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and inspire diverse teams.
* Robust experience in financial governance, risk management, and delivering measurable outcomes.
