Graduate Learning Support Assistant – 1:1 SEN Support

Looking to gain hands-on SEN experience before a career in education, psychology, or therapy?

*** Graduate Learning Support Assistant
*** £80 – £110 per day
*** September 2025 – July 2026
*** School Location: Ward of Selly Oak
*** 1:1 support to a Year 3 child with Autism

The Role
You’ll be providing consistent, daily 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with autism. Your job is to help them stay engaged with learning, manage transitions, and develop social and emotional confidence. You’ll adapt tasks to their needs, encourage communication, and work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow personalised strategies and routines. This role gives you real insight into supporting neurodiverse children in a mainstream classroom.

The Candidate
You’re a graduate who’s calm, compassionate, and motivated to work in SEN. You don’t need to be an expert—but you do need patience, initiative, and a willingness to learn. If you’ve volunteered, tutored, or worked with children before, especially in SEN or mental health settings, that’s a definite bonus. You might be aiming for a future in teaching, educational psychology, or child therapy.

The School
This Selly Oak primary school has a strong reputation for inclusive practice and SEN support. Staff work collaboratively, and graduate LSAs are supported from day one. You’ll be part of a focused, friendly team that values your input and helps you build your skillset over the year.

If you’re serious about supporting children with additional needs—and want meaningful experience to back it up—apply now.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
