Fixed-Term Contract (9 months) - Maternity Cover
Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Assistant to join an established accountancy practice in Paisley. This is a 9-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, with the potential to become a permanent position.
As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both weekly and monthly payroll runs and providing administrative support to the payroll function and wider team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process weekly and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with current legislation
- Respond to client queries in a timely and professional manner
- Support with general administrative tasks related to payroll processing
- Liaise with HMRC and other relevant bodies as required
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll-related matters
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a payroll or finance admin role (within an accountancy practice is desirable but not essential)
- Good understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC reporting requirements
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to manage workload and meet tight deadlines
