Allstaff Accountancy and Finance division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Business Support - Accounts Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our clients Business Support Team. You will be passionate about developing and maintaining valued client relationships and will know how to use cloud accounting software and technology to best support their clients’ businesses.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Responsibility for the bookkeeping routine for a portfolio of clients
Preparing VAT returns
Balance sheet reconciliations
Bank reconciliations
Maintaining periodic financial reporting for certain clients
Completing work within agreed timescales and budgets
Assist with implementing Xero or Quickbooks Online and provide training and support for clients on these systems
Provide advice on existing in house systems and identify potential improvements to increase quality, efficiency and service levels
Working with a varied client portfolio, the role will involve regular client contact
Liaising with managers, partners and other staff
To be considered for this position, you should have the following:

Essential

Previous experience working within an accountancy firm in a similar role
Knowledge of accounting systems such as Xero/Quickbooks
Excellent communication skills
Strong IT skills, including O365 and MS Teams
Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for own workload
Good technical/analytical skills, including the ability to analyse large datasets in Excel
Be comfortable liaising with clients via email/phone/in person as a key part of the role is developing and maintaining client relationship
Desirable

Experience of implementing and onboarding clients on Quickbooks/Xero
Experience in preparing management and financial accounts
Experience in payroll processing/administration of the CIS scheme
Experience Required

Ideally, the candidate will have previous experience from a practice environment
