Do you have a passion to teach and share your knowledge and expertise with students in Early Years?
We are looking for an inspirational Lecturer to teach, assess, and coordinate a range of Early Years courses from Level 1 to 4 and possibly other related programmes. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring high levels of student retention and achievement through effective teaching that meets or exceeds College standards. This role also includes internal verification/moderation.
What You’ll Do:
Undertake teaching activities, ensuring high quality provision in line with Professional Teaching Standards.
Assess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback, and record progress.
Create SMART targets and implement positive interventions for students.
Design, develop, manage, and review programmes collaboratively with managers and colleagues.
Develop course materials, schemes of work, and group profiles.
Deliver academic tutorials to provide feedback and guidance on performance.
Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are followed.
Contribute to the coordination, development, promotion, and delivery of courses.
Carry out internal verification duties.
Assist in finding and monitoring work experience placements and liaising with employers.
Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support for successful outcomes.
Contribute to marketing, IAG, and enrolment processes.
Participate in student recruitment activities, including interviews and open evenings.
Participate in/arrange approved student visits and trips.
Participate in the College’s examination process.
Attend staff meetings, parents' evenings, and industry updating/staff development events.
Maintain records of work, attendance, progress, and assessment.
Undertake assessment and internal verification activities in accordance with awarding bodies and College procedures.
Ensure Information Learning Technology (ILT) is used efficiently and effectively.
Embed opportunities to improve students’ English and maths within all learning activities.
Who We're Looking For:
A Level 5 Teaching qualification (e.g., DTTLS, Diploma in Education and Training, Cert Ed or PGCE) or commitment to achieving it within 3 years of employment (College-supported).
Minimum Level 3 or 4, HND, degree or professional industry qualification to teach the subject.
Minimum of Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.
Assessor Award (A1/TQA/CAVA).
Comprehensive, recent experience of working in Early Years.
Up-to-date knowledge of current initiatives impacting the vocational/subject area.
In-depth knowledge of the subject specialism to teach on Levels 1 to 4 Early Years qualifications.
Knowledge/experience of embedding maths and English into curriculum delivery.
Creative and innovative in selecting and adapting strategies to help students to learn.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and raise aspirations of students through enthusiasm and knowledge.
Exceptional verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent planning, organisation, and administrative skills.
Good IT skills.
